Are You ready to be a parent?
The fact is no one is really ready to be a parent. It is a unique journey with each child. Being a parent is one of the most challenging and rewarding jobs you will ever have, and we have the resources to help you.
When you consider parenthood, you probably have a million questions. Do you think about any of these?
- Will my partner or parents support my choice to parent?
- Where will I live?
- Can I stay in school?
- Who will care for my baby while I work?
- How will I get medical care?
- Can I afford to be a parent?
These are legitimate questions, and we want to help you sort through them and others to determine if parenting is right for you.
How We Can Assist You
Many women choose not to parent because they don’t feel they have the support they need. However, there are more resources today than ever for women who can independently parent.
No-Cost Parenting Education
At the Pregnancy Resource Center, we believe a prepared parent is a successful parent. We offer our BrightCourse program to set you on a solid path before you even begin parenting.
These online courses are fun and educational. You learn about the following topics and more:
- Prenatal care
- Infancy
- Toddlerhood
- Parenting
- Life skills
- Relationships
If you are currently expecting or have a child under 2, please talk with us about joining our free BrightCourse program.
Prenatal Medical Care
We have a list of reputable doctor referrals to share who will give you information on the first steps of prenatal healthcare. In addition, we provide 6-months of prenatal vitamins and referrals for other medical care.
Material Support
We not only assist you before your baby is born but afterward, too. By signing up for BrightCourse, you can take advantage of our unique “Earn While You Learn” program. For every BrightCourse class you complete, you earn credits toward items from our Baby Store.
Use your credits to “purchase” maternity and baby items, diapers, wipes, and smaller necessities. Or save up your credits to earn a new crib and mattress, highchair, car seat, baby monitor, stroller, breast pump, and more.
The PRC team promises to see you through the first two years of motherhood to ensure you have a solid beginning. We provide free diapers, formula, and a bag of clothes every month.
Community Assistance
The residents and organizations of Comanche County are also committed to your success. We can connect you to available resources to assist you with housing, child care, job skills, and more.
Please talk with us about the possibility of parenting. You won’t be alone. We’ll be right beside you every step of the way. Schedule an appointment to discuss this option.
